For the second time in as many weeks I saw a physics based game in the iTunes store that I just had to get so that I could share it with others. In this case the game was Stair Dismount by Secret Escape Ltd.
Based on the hugely popular (with over 2.5 million downloads) Dismount game for the PC, this game is a must have for anyone that loves physics based games or has as sadistic sense of humor. If, like me, you fall into both catagories then you won’t be able to keep away from this app.
Providing you with not one but 10 different designs of stairs or ledges from which to violently hurl your person from, you will never run out or locations or angles to take advantage of. What makes this great game even better in not just the very realistic 3D graphics and the physics of the falling crash test dummy but they also give you the option to choose a face from your contacts (including those on Face Book) and paste it on the face of your dummy. I immediatly looked for a photo of my old boss but feel free to use an image of your mother-in-law if she isn’t around…. LOL
To make the game even more enjoyable you can choose between the built in sound track or something from yout music library. Whichever you choose, keep the volume down enough to enjoy the wonderful sound effects of the cracking and breaking bones.
It has been a while since I played the PC version so I won’t be compairing this game to it but will instead just list some of the game features that I enjoyed the most:
* The 3D visuals will allow you to start and pause as well as rotate the screen elements in virtually any direction
* The game includes a camera feature which will allow you to snap screen shots and save them locally or share them with others via email or Face Book
* During or after the dismount you can not only view your total score but also access a screen that shows the total damage to each part of the body.
* Online scores can be shared and compaired to others via Open Feint – something I am seeing more and more of with iPhone games.
* Finely, I can’t say enough about the quality of the graphics, the realism of the physics, and addictiveness of this game. Even my wife, as mild mannered as she is, couldn’t put it down. She sat there with her mouth open in shock repeating, “Oh My God!” over and over again.
In conclusion, this is a must have in my book. While there is a free Lite version available, the full game is on sale for $0.99 at the moment and I would take advantage of it while you can.
